Manifold temp!

Hi all,

Just wondering what kind of temp you are getting on your exaust manifolds, after running for a couple of minutes we are getting approx 150 - 200 degrees c, this seams a bit hot!, have checked the timing which is set at 30 before @ 3000 rpm.

Any thoughts!!!

That isn't hot. If mine drops below 140 C at tickover I know I have a misfire. The headers routinely get up to 300C+, and the cat runs up to 600 C occasionally.

Crikey. I've just got the engine running for the first time this week (its awesome) and I've noticed that the ehaust is very hot, as one should expect (I haven't measured it yet).

I'm worried that some of the places I attached some of the wires is too close to the header, and they might melt. Does anyone have any advice on how far away electrical and oil lines should be from the headers?

If it's within 4" you might want to think about thermal protection.
