Heading up to the spectator camping area in the morning, it'll be an interesting start to the season with the new engines and lot's of drivers reporting issues in testing... but I'm most looking forward to beers and watching cars fly around a circuit again

Cracking result for the qualifying too (I won’t spoil it for anyone). Can’t believe it was his first ever earns pole position.
The introduction of the hybrid deployment this season is going to be fascinating. Having the tyres and weight consistent over a meeting puts all the pressure on the set up and the drivers. It's much more of a mental game now than the last couple of seasons. The second race was fantastic. Clean, no safety cars, and the last few laps with Flash and Tingram neck and neck followed up by George Gamble were real edge of the seat stuff. If Morgan didn't have any hybrid, as he reckoned before the race, he did very well, too.
I know we don't see all the action going on, but there didn't seem to be as much w
ky driving today. Gamble drove really well for his first meeting, I like the fact no success ballast is used and the hybrid thing is quite interesting, nice LED's and on screen graphics that show when someone is using it.

Some good racing today, but I'd prefer more visibility when someone is using the hybrid. Unless the camera happens to show the side passenger window you don't know if they are using it as the graphics aren't always on screen.
If you are watching live, you've less chance of knowing if you happen to be on the opposite side of the cars when spectating.
Prefer it to ballast though.

I found the graphics annoying, covering too much of the screen at times. Going against the tide perhaps but I’m not a fan of this hybrid setup. A bit of regen and mild hybrid to improve acceleration/cut emissions I’m all in with but this feels a bit too much like a computer game to me. I liked the relatively uncomplicated nature of BTCC. Completely agree. I couldn’t see the blue light at all but it is a better system than ballast imgo

I was sceptical about all the rules for the hybrid deployment.
Early days yet, but I think that the graphics on the TV coverage will need looking at.
As Alan Gow commented, he will await for the fans reactions & obviously make any adjustments as the seasons unfolds.
Overall though, a lot better, & more involved than adding weights to the car... the drivers seem to prefer it as well.

I’m quite surprised at how far up the field Morgan was who apparently had no hybrid power all weekend.
If that’s the case either it was a spectacular setup and drive from him or the hybrid boost really isn’t that much in terms of performance and it’s more of just an eco, save the planet bks.
I stand to be corrected and I can see how it
might have more of an effect on more stop start circuits whereas Donnington is quite flowing.
