SV roadster vs SVJ

I am looking to finally get into an Aventador. Its been a dream since a child and will be a massive step up from the Huracan for me.

Prices seem to have shot up recently, and I am deciding between two models

SVJ Coupe (4 owners 9kmiles)
SJ Roadster (8 owners! and 9k miles)

They are both at the same price £345k
The SV surprisingly was preferred to me (I always thought id like the SVJ but in real life the SV shone through, especially as its the roadster version).

A few questions.
I want to keep it forever, but If I had to sell in a year which one would hold its value better?
Which is the better investment, will they appreciate. I think the SV with only 500 models worldwide might have the edge?
The SV is wrapped and wheels painted, which I am not into really, but there are so few around. is this a negative along with the 8 owners?

If a keeper go with your heart, The SVJ is almost mass produced compared to the SV,

The 8 owner part would worry me a little ,you will be the 9th which maybe a problem if selling on

but if it's going to be a keeper less so, baring in mind that these cars were at premium for some time

and changed hands quickly probably with most owners hardly driving them before flipping .

Personally i'm not sure about the detachable engine cover on the SVJ ,looks a bit of a palaver getting it on or off

and stands a good chance it will get damaged while off the car if not handled carefully which I'm sure

owners will be. I'd go for the SV ,in long term should turn into a better investment ,I know that's not the reason

to buy but it helps and it's a roadster with summer just around the corner,enjoy which ever one you choose

I think the SV will be the one to hold its value longer term in terms of supply especially. Worldwide was 500 and UK i believe Roadster was as low as 65 cars. When you then take into account some of which have been exported, a few written off and a number badly damaged but repaired it makes a good car very desirable.
Wouldn't worry about owners personally its more mileage, condition and history.

I can't believe the SV roadster at one point last year hit below 300k and I would take the SV roadster over a SVJ coupe but I would take the SVJ roadster over a SV roadster.

Personally, everything is still going up. Even the SVJ. If you want to keep the car short term, go for SVJ, and you will probably be able to sell for a profit, or worst case break even. Only other issue is that everyone has them now, because Lamborghini made so many.

In long term, go for the SV, as it will be more rare than the SVJ once SVJ has completed production and delivery, and therefore worth more. I also think the SV looks and sounds better than the SVJ (from stock)

The SVJ will go up until the AV replacement is announced. Once the replacement is announced expect prices to crest and start falling.

Definitely the SV for sure. I can only see that figure rising over time due to the limited numbers. Agree with what all others have said. Personally, I think the SVJ just went too far with all the spoilers and aero bits, whereas the SV has a subtle balance.

I bought a very low miles one owner 2012 Aventador last year and have already seen the figures rise if I had to replace it... not that I plan to!

I think any last of the line SV badged model can only rise in price, look at the original Miura and the Murcie 670SV , very rare and now very desirable

As someone who's owned both (and drove them a fair bit), I'd say the SVJ is a significantly better car and more enjoyable to drive, but is fatally compromised by the ludicrous lack of rear visibility thanks to the slatted engine cover/fixed spoiler height. It made road driving a real challenge for a number of reasons. There was talk of a retrofitted camera/rearview mirror setup which if now available, would be a must have in my opinion.

The SV I found just a really harsh, lumbering drive without the 4 wheels steer and configurability of steering/throttle/suspension that came with the SVJ. If I was in the mood for another Aventador I'd actually buy an S. But then maybe I'm just getting old. Probably another reason I never fancied the roadster in any Aventador variant.

So I ended up buying the SV roadster (attached) based on this advice.
Unbelievable car that I’ve had over two years of fun with.

What was interesting is that the SVJ coupe flew up to 450 (100k gain) and the SV roadster stayed the same or list a little (335k now). I don’t regret the choice. As the open top element is fantastic.

What do people thinks going to happen going forward with SV values. Hopefully as mentioned here earlier they will still appreciate?

Have an SV coupe so slightly biased but what V12 carbon tub mid engine madness can you get for under £1m? People hate on the gearbox but I quite like it. Over the next 3/4 years they’ll rise

What are peoples thoughts on a mid blue SV roadster with red highlighted black interior?

Seems a bit odd to me but then lambo used the combo in their literature at one point so maybe its ok, i’m a little unsure as not seen one in the flesh with this combo.

Blue with red accents looks good and plenty of SV's in this combo.

blue with red would not bother me, but it is not something I would actively choose if I were to spec a car. I think red stuff (interior as well as brake callipers) only really works well with red, grey, black and white exterior (silver ok too).

Pretty much agree, then one of my car mates said, superman colours which sort of sold it to me

I have to change the seats for comforts as it has the one piece carbons in it, so i could change to a more subtle highlight but this would clash with the rest of the red interior highlights unless chosen wisely, i could get plain black but i like the logos etc standing out, i ll think on..

It does have red calipers, also silver wheels, the wheels i like but with the already clashing int vs exterior, i think they jarr even further, so maybe change the wheel colour to satin black or a dark bronze like an svj i had, which happened to be the same blue as this sv and they worked really well..

Id forgotten this one had bright orange callipers and seat highlights, never gave it a 2nd thought at the time tbh, why have a become so fussy?!

Then an sv popped up in my favourite colour, arancio atlas, then made it very clear to me that even though i like the blue, its not a wow colour and not one i really desire, so i’m not going with it, a total re-think and stick with my arancio 700-4 for now..
