I've worked out a few things too. I think fawkes is more than just a phoenix, and Harry's scar is number 7...

I wasted 2 1/2 hours of my life reading this last night. Twaddle. Weaker than the others by a considerable margin, not helped by all the 'Dawsons Creek' stylee heartreak and teen anguish.

Yeah, but they are 16 so it would be considered un-PC to make it more truthful by having Hermione pregnant with Ron's child and Harry shooting up heroine...

what did you expect from a kids book?

it certainly seemed a poorer book than the rest. The ending just didnt seem to fit with the rest of the book and it was too obvious what was going to happen.

SORT OF THREAD HIJACK....

bought Harry Potter & 1/2 blood prince for my wife, but when she got to the bit where the Head teacher was zapped off the castle battlements near the end, the story abruptly stopped and instead the first two chapters were repeated instead (including the foreword)!

Clearly a printing error, but .... do you reckon this makes the book a collectors item and worth lots of money , or should I just take it back to the shop and get them to replace it??

Probably is worth hanging on to ... especially if it turns out to be a fairly rare mistake.
