GTC4 Lusso questions
Discussion
Hi all - couple of quick ones.
Looking at GTC4 Lusso, v12. I’m test driving at the weekend but car has a couple of “missing” options. No Apple, no panoramic roof and no rear wiper. What is consensus on these? It’s stunning, by the way.
And any knowledge of whether car play can be retrofitted?
Thanks in advance

A GTC4 Lusso sans Pano roof is extremely rare and difficult to sell according to my sales guy. It transforms the rear seat ambience and does a very good job of lightening the cabin. Would never buy one without it which is typical of most potential buyers.
Rear wiper is handy but looks ungainly so prefer one without it.
Apple Carplay is essential if you have an iphone but makes no odds with an Android phone.

Thanks. Was my fear. Good re the rear wiper. One off the list.
CarPlay would be nice but I’ve not got it on any other cars (wife and daughter swear by it though!) so I can live without.
The pano is the rub. Interior of the one I’m viewing is nice (very nice) but I have a slight fear of the back becoming claustrophobic… re sale less of a concern as I don’t plan on this going any time soon, but also makes sense to not make that harder than it needs to be for when the time comes.
Massively appreciate all the feedback.

Like scuderia shields and rosso corsa paint (which sales guys will tell you are essential for resale), the desirability of the pano roof becomes self fulfilling if the opinion is repeated often enough.
I have had pano on a couple of BMWs and been in a Lusso with pano. With that frame of reference, I'm not bothered by the lack of pano roof on my non-pano FF. As your car will be a keeper, it's up to you to decide if the absence of the pano roof matters to you. If non-pano is harder to shift then you're presumably getting into the car at a more affordable price precisely because the car is non-pano so the gain on purchase is lost on resale. The fact that it's in budget and the one with 'all the options' isn't suggests that this could be how the man-math works.
Another factor to bear in mind is that the rest of the spec matters too. If it is unusual and distinctive in some way then the absence of pano will matter less to someone who likes the overall aesthetic of the car. If the car is a base spec nero/nero, for example, then future buyers will have a wider choice of cars to choose from and the non-pano discount is more likely to rear its head.
While some buyers would avoid a car without pano, there are others who have ordered new Lussos without pano despite speccing it on an earlier Lusso or FF.
One other thing to bear in mind on Carplay is that it's wired in the Lusso (no wireless option).

Thanks. All good points.
I’m going on Sat to take a look. Salesman (obviously) says that the car is airy because of the interior not being black on black on black) but I’ll judge.
As you say too, this is clearly in the price so helpful on the way in.
The rest of the spec is really nice.
Re wired v wireless, are you saying that the phone does not connect by Bluetooth, or that the system is hard wired in so not an easy retrofit?
Thanks in advance

The phone has to be physically plugged in via USB for Carplay to work. You can, however, bluetooth the phone for everything else so in some ways, what Carplay gains in functionality, it loses in convenience. The Lusso infotainment UI is pretty up to date by modern standards so hopefully your family won't feel that they're missing out on Carplay. Thanks in advance
The two I’m looking at are the black v12 atJCT600 in Leeds and the black v12 at Autofficina.
Anyone know either? Thoughts on them as alternatives.
First doesn’t have CarPlay or pano but interior is beautiful, lower mileage and through Ferrari. Second has a good spec, but wheels need to be silver and loose the front tints.
Both viewings this weekend.

And just when the received wisdom was that you can't retrofit Carplay, someone has popped up on FChat to say that he's been able to do just that (despite being originally told that it wasn't possible).
It seems that the dash has to come apart and a new head unit and wiring loom need to be fitted. So it's not a software switch but a full hardware replacement.

No Apple is poor, but not a deal breaker. I think it's extremely useful for Waze etc.No pano roof is a complete deal breaker.
No rear wiper is a positive. The wiper ruins the look.
I'd wait for the right car.
Mine, showing the roof & rear screen:

Stunning.
Todays without the roof was amazing. The interior is incredible, Daytona seats, alcantara everywhere and white details on the seats. It felt awesome.
Tried one with the pano and it did nothing for me. I’ve another tomorrow with pano for a further perspective but I have to be honest, today’s was incredible.

I think I'm buying a Lusso. Yesterday's was lovely. Lack of Pano roof meant nothing to me. Saw another today, and it was nowhere near in comparison. Yesterday's is basically brand new. Utterly perfect. Seems a sensible family car! Lack of pano roof is definitely in the price when I have seen others, so 15-20k less, which will be the same on the way out. The Daytona seats in two tone with full carbon and alcantara is stunning.
Can't wait now to get it and enjoy it.
Thanks for the feedback etc. See you on the road!
