Well these works have well and truly lost their magic. Trying to get out of town any rush hour or when the grockles are leaving is miserable. That's before any twunt tries to get their lorry over the footbridge at Ferndown.

I've given up on the A338, and go the long way round onto the A31 via Gravel Hill and Ferndown bypass. Light relief from the A338 however as the queues through the contaflow on the A31 stretch westwards.

I feel for everyone trying to get out of Ringwood on a regular basis however.

I've tried a few short cuts around A31 and West Moors, but not sure if that helps.

I've found a nice route out via Wimborne, past Remedy Oak, right at Cranborne, then through Fordingbridge, past Sandy Balls, and then drop onto M27 J1 or J2. Takes about 20-30 minutes extra, but that's negated if the A338 & A31 is at 1 hour+.

If going to London, take the above route but carry on towards Stockbridge, north past Micheldever Tyres, onto the A303 and up onto the M3. That's a great route, if the M27 is snarled.

Any other tips, routes or ideas for therapy?
