Look at what they are wearing - polyester hi-viz, rucksacks and jackets, all oil derived.
How did they get there? Teleportation? Was an ICE car involved? Even if it were an EV, there's a lot of oil gone into producing components and tyres.
Most things happen by degree. Not saying I agree with what they are doing at all but I don't see it makes any sense to say that someone cant campaign for the environment unless they have no impact on it at all. That's impossible because we all live in the world as it is now rather than how we want it to be. How did they get there? Teleportation? Was an ICE car involved? Same hypocrisy as the climate emergency pensioners who have spent decades using cheap flights to travel all over Europe.
These teenagers will soon realise that oil is a necessity, albeit one we can and should reduce our consumption of, when they leave home, look for work and actually get some hobbies.

In a statement, the organisation said it is "demanding an end to the government's genocidal policy of expanding UK oil and gas production".
"Ordinary people can no longer afford oil and gas, it's time to just stop oil," it added.
"It's funding war and killing people in the global south while destroying the future for young people everywhere."
I see. "Ordinary people can no longer afford oil and gas, it's time to just stop oil," it added.
"It's funding war and killing people in the global south while destroying the future for young people everywhere."
To clarify, what was their solution to the current oil/gas issues?

That's true, but sadly the mentality of most eco-protesters these days is:"Things I don't like or don't affect me" = Bad
"Things I do like or can't go without" = Good
And sod anyone else who dares to disagree.
My opinion of demonstrators was formed very early on by an article in the local paper when ar were a lad of a group of well meaning folk demonstrating on behalf the world's starving millions. A group of them were going without lunch for a day. The article was accompanied by a photo of these solemn folk gathered in the village hall making do with just cheese and biscuits.

Yes.Like Extinction Rebellion and Insulate Britain they are simply anarchists jumping on a bandwagon. They couldn't care less about climate change.
My fear now is that every other idiot will go out and panic buy fuel. I have 400 miles to do today and don't have time to sit in a queue of idling cars because a bunch of morons think they are doing the world a favour.
These fools seem unable to understand that the world, and the global population we have now, has grown to its present situation and size on the back of centuries of fossil fuel use.
If fossil fuel use is cut within a short space of time, then billions across the globe will lose their lives.
That may of course be what they are aiming for (who knows?) but this seems to be another example of the knee jerk idiots, jumping on a band wagon, without thinking the situation through properly.
Fossil fuel use has been going on, and has developed over centuries, it may take a long time to stop its use intelligently, by doing it over a sufficient length of time which allows truly viable alternatives to it to be properly developed.
