As we of the PH collective set here setting matters of world importance straight, I have an even more important priority. It is Wednesday, 10 AM. My 65 year old Dad just called and asked me to take some leave time and go fishing with him. The way I see it, work will always be here in some form, moral and religious arguments will always be around as well....but my dad will not.....I'm gone fishing, see you guys tomorrow :)

I actually caught my dad fishing one day!

Hooked him up the nose I can still see the maggots wriggling up his nostril now!!!

we laugh about it now but it wasn't funny when he was in hospital having the hook cut out. except for the nurses who thought it was hilarious!

Went fishing last weekend. First time in a year.
Went with my bro and my bro-in-law.
Very nice.

Bro-in-law caught FOUR traces on the bale arm of the reel and everything from the swivel down went flying off into the sea. Damnit. I decided the day was over after number four went in as I only had two or three left...

I've been down the river fishing for Sea-Trout every night at dusk for the last week.

Made it back; not much luck today, but quality time with Dad. As we say here, "A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work".

Hey Jimbeaux, glad to here you were able to get away with your Pop, especially to fish! My father never fished often, to busy working, but my Grandfather on my Mom's side was avid and took us kids out every chance he got. Just one of the benefits of growing up next door to your Grandparents. They used to pack up the trailer, throw us kids in the truck and we would escape to Eastern Washington every Summer break for 3 weeks. What memories.

Your thread gives me an excuse to post up pics of the best fish I've caught to date, unfortunately I caught it after my Grandpa passed away, I would have loved to have shown it off to him and he would have loved to have seen it. 4.96 Lbs rainbow caught fishing off the bank with ultralight gear and 2 Lb. test:
