Got a Panasonic sound bar with LG TV (UG870V).

It's been working for years, nothing has changed. HDMI from soundbar to the back of TV.

Suddenly the TV doesn't seem to be able to detect the sound bar any more. The bar still comes on, indicator lights etc, but no sound.

I went in to the TV settings -> sound, it was set to TV speakers. I changed it to HDMI/Arc/External and there was just no sound.

I swapped the HDMI cable, no difference.

I checked the TV firmware, doesn't appear to have been updated recently (no update available).

Is there anything else i can check/do?

Just seems strange it suddenly stopped working. It's not like a soundbar has lots of moving bars or gets hot etc.

If I ring Panasonic they'll just blame LG and if I ring LG they'll blame Panasonic.

Got another TV to try it on, even a small one? The sound bar may have signal switching which can be relay controlled (like some/all? AV amps) - in which case there is a moving part that can fail.

You can plug something like a phone into the sound bar to see if it works at all?
