I've got a 2010 (2.0 folding hard top) which has the rare 18" wheel option (Fondmetal alloys).

I've always put Bridgestone Potenza S001 225/40 tyres on it, which have been decent enough, but wondered if anyone had suggestions for alternatives?

Had a puncture recently and they couldn't get the S001, so fitted Turanza T005 instead. Tread pattern is very different, as it's a more general purpose tyre, so not sure it's ideal mixing them too.

So would welcome any tyre recommendation - it's my daily driver, so need something reasonable in all weathers..

S001 has been replaced by the Potenza Sport, which is getting great reviews. Michelin PS4 are great if available too.

OT a bit but 18" wheels on an MX5 eek Mine feels miles better binning the 17s to fit 16s for winter!

Potenza Sport is a good tyre for the road, but don't take it to a track on them, I have them on my NC and they melt after 3 laps at Bedford, very disappointed

I like tyres that say Michelin on the side.
