That must be a good anagram for something. Any suggestions?

Well as his full name is Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton, it’ll probably become either Lewis Carl Davidson Larbalestier Hamilton, Lewis Carl Larbalestier Davidson Hamilton or similar, depending on where he places it. He will still be Lewis Hamilton, unless he double barrels it, but I don’t think that even a shouty moron like Crofty is going to struggle with it.

It’s a bit of a non-story to be honest.

Absolutely. My Dad had his mother's maiden name as his middle name, it's just a nice gesture.

It won't stop all the haterz ripping into him on the Twitters.

With all the pain and suffering in the world at the moment, this is the news I secretly think we all wanted, and needed, to hear.

I dont think it's a "non story".

Good for him. Why do most women give up their family name when they get married? It makes no sense at all. Can anyone explain to me why that happens?

I agree with the above.

But I also wonder, why now, Lewis?

Because if they didn't we would all have surnames with more words in than "War and Peace"?

Lewis has been campaigning for equality for years. Probably just the next step following more introspection.

Absolutely, but it's the off-season, and gives angry people another reason to mouth off on social media.

Surely he's just taken his Grandfather's surname, though? If he really wanted to go full equality, he should be adopting the name Carmen instead.

Unless he's actually changing his surname such as it appears on the timing screens (e.g. Larbalestier-Hamilton) then why even announce it?
