I have a V8 Vantage manual 2006 and got the following error
DSC Service Required
Traction Control Temporarily Off.
This was not there last time I drove and it came on when I started the car this morning. Nothing happens if I press the traction control button
Any help would be appreciated

I ran a diagnostics which didn’t show any errors.
Is there anything I can check on the actual sensors and if so where are they located?
Thanks

I've seen this on Jaguars of the same era. Park them up for a few weeks and you get DSC System fault. Restart the engine and it usually goes away, but will come back soon unless the car gets a lot of use.

If the battery is getting flat and you start the engine, the voltage drops low enough during cranking that it causes the traction control computer to shut down, causing the fault.

Give the battery a charge. Worth a try since it's free (well, nearly)

Thanks for the help. I drive my car 2 or 3 times per week (it’s my daily). The battery is relatively new and spins the engine like it’s going to fly out of the car.
I need to run diags on the Body OBD port but my generic reader can’t read that port. Is there anybody in the Bolton, Lancashire area that wouldn’t mind letting me plug in AMDS or a reader that can read Body ODB
Thanks in advance

I had this when I installed new hubs/bearings on the front. Did a bit of research and found that it was because the wheel speed sensor needs to pick up the new bearing unit. It cleared after a few miles.

Obviously not relevant in your case, however, I did read that if the bearing area is rusty, the sensor might not be able to read it and throw an error.

The sensor is located in the knuckle and I'd hazard a guess it's rusty hub rather than a speed sensor. Page 5 on the attached shows the rear hub and ABS(speed) sensor half way down.

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Depending on the age of your car it might be worth considering changing the front bearings. They're not that expensive if you get the Firstline ones rather than AM.

Just some thoughts for consideration.

all sorted. Thanks to Chris for letting me plug into his Foxwell. I wen to AM Performance in Macclesfield and they identified a faulty Brake Pressure Transducer. Replaced and all is now ok

Hi,
This seems the most relevant place to post my query, even though its for a 2008 DB9.

I recently was confronted with a "DSC Service Required" and "Traction Control Temporarily Off".
Plugged in an OBD reader and got fault code P0130 in the Traction Control Module module, Searched on line and was led to believe this was the brake pressure transducer (note i didn't see the option on the OBD to actually read the brake pressure value, bit of a mistake there by me).

So assumed it was the brake pressure sensor, and got a replacement. Still had the same alarm. Found the means to actually read and graph the pressure reading on the OBD reader and it seems to be ok. I cleared the alarm, P0130 but as soon as this is cleared I get the ABS warning light. In the Brake Control module there is the alarm P1935 which I cannot clear.

If I stop the engine and restart, the ABS alarm goes but the Traction Control Alarm returns, UNTIL I clear the P0130. When I do the Traction Control Alarm clears but the ABS alarm come up.

Any pointers would be most useful.

Hi there,

Just a thought, do the brake lights come on every time your press the brake? There is a separate brake switch that also needs to work not just the pressure transducer. Worth checking as it's an easy fix.

However, I had this a couple of years ago on my Vantage and after eliminating the brake switch etc etc I eventually diagnosed the yaw sensor that sadly lives in the depths of the car under the dash, once replaced all has been well.

Good luck with your diagnosis.

Snooglefinder,
Thanks for the reply. My brake light seems to be working normally, so probably not that one.
Can I ask how you narrowed down to the yaw sensor?

If your brake light switch is faulty, the ESP module has a pressure based backup to turn on the brake lights, so, your brake lights still working does not necessarily rule out a faulty BLS.

If the BLS has not switched "on" when the ESP module sees a higher, pre-determined, pressure, the ESP will degrade due to not seeing the driver actually brake.

Easy enough to change the switch, it's an old Ford push and twist, self setting item, that are known for falling over.
Pretty sure that AML use a 1.3mm spacer on the pedal when fitting and setting the switch.

Hi Gentlemen,

Well I changed the Brake Light Switch, with no change to the symptoms.

At key on I get traction control OFF, DSC Service Required.

If I go the the Brake Module on my OBD reader, i can see the Brake Pressure Sensor Error. Note, just by reading this error it prompts the ABS light to flash. Clearing this error clears the DSC Service Notification, but the ABS light continues to flash.

I can clear the ABS light (but retrieve the DCS alarm) by turning off ignition and back on.

Note: I ALWAYS have the alarm P1935 in the Transmission Module and cannot clear this.

Next steps anyone??

Dealer or Indi, the car needs to be plugged into the diagnostic tool. Pointless continuing to guess.
