(BMW) Cooper S power steering pump

Apologies if this has been asked before (i couldnt find a similar topic..)..

Is it common for the aforementioned power steering pump to sound knackered - especially on full lock..?

it works fine isnt leaking, so i am assuming it's 'one of those things..'.

Get it looked at, pronto. Just to be on the safe side.

Especially if you can feel a knocking through the wheel during low speed manouvreing.

so it's an 'it's ok. but.' situation! i'll get them to have a look. as i say i feels ok.. just sounds a bit 'rough'

Check the power steering fluid, mine leaked away and knackered the steering rack, which was replaced under warranty...
