I still have to go to work so will keep driving, may set off ten minutes earlier and go slower on the motorway to get the mpg up a bit.

I'm not sure that I will? I have massively cut down on my commuting mileages and my business miles, although the latter I tend to use rental cars and claim the exact cost back.

I do already think twice about driving for fun however, although when the weather is nicer I probably won't. Yesterday there was a bit of sun and a hint of dry roads so was quite happy to enjoy a drive.

F90 M5 currently costing me around 30p / mile in fuel, and I anticipate this will increase to maybe 40p / mile?

No plans to reduce mileage at these costs, although the car is used mainly for work and we use the wife's hybrid Jazz for shorter, local journeys (60+ MPG!).

I have the same car how you get to 30P a mile?
Insurance and road tax must be £17/£20 per week.

30p / mile in fuel. Last fill was just shy of £100 (regular Shell unleaded), mileage on that tank was about 340.

I don't think about tax, insurance, depreciation etc!

Me neither. And anyway, F90C LCI worth every penny and more.

(apart from the crap cruise control!) (and lack of M head up display unless in M mode, equally crap, what are you doing BMW!)

My mathematician brother told me it’s costing me 25p a mile at the moment. I’ll stop driving when I’m medically unfit to do so.

After paying £600 for Road Tax on my Z4M Coupe it seems a bit pointless worrying about petrol prices!

So I'll just keep using it as long as I can.

I just picked up a 69 plate pre lci M5 and I can configure mine with M head up display when not in M mode, did they change it on the LCI model, seems odd if they did?

Is the JM club exclusive to M5 owners?

tbh I've done 1000 miles in it over the last two years so petrol isnt an issue. I think having it and not driving it is.

Yes they did, it's a real pain. Also cruise control now automatically defaults to basic set up, knocks off M mode, M1 setting and M head up display, and re-instates the lane change crap as well. Nightmare.

Unless someone out there knows better? Please??

The Lci became too clever for it's own good with all this stuff.
Never understood why I can't have M1 HUD display as well as satnav directions turned on.
Great car otherwise.

Yea, it's supposed to be a DRIVERS car. Not some nanny machine. Embarrassing stuff from BMW on their top car.

But yes, otherwise an epic car and the best M5 in my book.

Petrol dwarfed by depreciation surely. The only thing that will put me off driving is if mandated EV actually happens.

Me too, where's the fun in a quiet car, I do a virtual spit every time I see a Tesla hurl

god they're ugly too. I think it's VW EV's that have a white neon bar across the front to say look I'm an EV! Why? rolleyes

I will stop driving when I am no longer capable or when it stops being fun. Otherwise I am keeping driving.
