Energy Recovery
Discussion
Just watching one of the Top 10 xyz videos on YouTube and something stuck out I want to clarify from some whom might know.
The video described :
KERS : Harvesting 'Heat' energy from braking to charge battery
Turbos : Harvesting 'Heat' energy from exhaust etc etc.
Surely both are harvesting kinetic energy, no? At least the latter is driven by exhaust gas (Speed of) rather than Heat as such?
Same for Hybrid era (MGU-H) - why does everyone say its converting heat from the exhaust to drive the generator?
I guess I'm questioning the terminology not the laws of thermo dynamics
