Could anyone within this sector substantiate the above. Following the 'emergency act' powers coming into force in Canada recently, is this something we should all be thinking a bit more carefully about? Has anyone here on PH had a similar experience? From the secret recording and also comments in the video, this isn't a particularly rare event.

How about summarising the issues being raised by the video? If I wanted to watch video clips I'd just fking watch youtube rather than surf PH...

In summary. Bank closes mans accounts. Man receives terrible customer service as staff can't explain why. Man believes it is all a conspiracy rather than just incompetence.

Sounds likes he’s developed a nice little earner coming up with rubbish to fill a YT clip and plugging ‘private access internet vpn’. Bet the loons lap it up.

I used to assume the bank was the safest place to store my cash...now I'm not so sure.
You can see how this will drive people towards crypto!
The banking sector are acting like Turkeys voting for Christmas!!

Not really, I just keep up to date with current affairs.
I also try to have conversations and make points and statements which you're more than welcome to agree with, or not, whilst still keeping it friendly...I try to avoid personal attacks obviously.

But you seem to arrive at the end conclusion, without checking anything else (less nutty off the list, first.

Hence, I believe folk see you as a conspiracy fan.

You may try the least worst options, first.

Thanks Paul671. Seeing as the OP has not returned to the thread, I'll file this under hit and run posting. If I was cynical, I'd think that this is just an attempt to advertise/promote a youtubers channel...

Do the same people who don't trust banks, actually trust crypto?

To be fair, it has been a bit startling the way that Canada has been freezing the accounts of anyone supporting the trucker protest.

If you'd suggested that happening 5 years ago, you'd have been shouted down as a conspiracy theorist, but here we are.

Some recently joked, the difference between a conspiracy theory and real life is about 6 months currently.

The problem is pensions IMHO.

“How can we fix the pensions timebomb? Previous World Economic Forum analysis has predicted at least a $400 trillion savings gap by 2050

https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2021/01/pensions-sa...

Currently, I have heard, but cannot find link, EU pension shortfall is £50 trillion.
This sounds about right if back in 2017 UK pensions shortfall was £4trillion, with a GDP of £3trillion...

Not watched the video, put I'm going to be fairly confident this is exactly case. What is interesting, numerous ragey forum posters are right now making a case that banks and the government should be allowed to seize assets and accounts of Russian citizens (or perhaps Israeli's or wherever etc etc etc) OR potential beneficial ownership of sanctioned individuals. Regardless the morality behind that view maybe correct; and it may lead to a greater good (right now); longer term that's a very dangerous and slippery slope IF we move to presumption of guilt before innocence. We do already operate a 2 tier system in the UK, with lower burden of proof for certain criminality dealt with in civil cases - but I'd certainly caution against a cart blanche flip of asset seizure rules. And if you don't want people to commit tax evasion, Money Laundering etc - make the penalties stiffer (which is another debate as you can do as much time for certain AML breaches as you can do for murder - which might well be fair and valid.......).

I'd suggest the more you know about banking, the more you should worry about it. And it has nothing to do with lizards, illuminati or admin blunders. If you don't know much, don't worry about it. You cant influence it.

Isn't this the same poster who regularly claimed the last US election was rigged?

Yes, and has repeatedly refused to admit it/climb down.

Can’t be bothered to watch a 20 minute video, particularly with that lighting choice to start out on a “sinister” note.

If someone wants to summarise what he says, maybe you’ll get a response.

Its a bit of a shocker but not many people know that if everyone goes to their bank at then same time and asks for their £££ then there is not anywhere near enough £££ for everyone to take their own money out
