2009 997 Turbo Gen 1.5
Discussion
I’ve just bought this car which is in great condition & fairly low mileage for a 2009. But it wasn’t till I’d left the car dealer & was driving home that I noticed that the rear spoiler wasn’t rising & lowering as it should do. On closer inspection it became apparent that the wing on this car is a fixed one.
The dealer claims it’s part of the aero kit. Was just wondering if anybody could enlighten me on this.

Looks like the genuine article. The front splitter should be different also - slightly more protruding than normal.
Its a nice rare option and makes the turbo look even better in my opinion (but I’m biased)

That looks like my old car albeit i could be mistaken, traded it in back in 2016 for a 991.1 TTS at Edinburgh OPC.Its a nice rare option and makes the turbo look even better in my opinion (but I’m biased)

Could be, I actually bought it in June 2017.. plate ending VDF, manual, 41k miles..
I believe it was my old car
Untitled by Gary ORourke, on FlickrI also have a 1.5, no aerokit AFAIK. The rear spoiler is a lifty-uppy model, and looks flatter on top than yours and doesn't protrude so far back. The front splitter is vertically flat to the rest of the front, it doesn't have the protruding beak of yours.
Doesn't mean it's not genuine. What are the build codes on the body sticker?

How was the experience of moving to the newer turbo?

I purchased your car from Sutton Coldfield OPC with about 12k on the clock and traded it 4.5 years later at 36k IIRC, check your Service book to see if it was serviced by Porsche Solihul between 2012 & 2016
The wheels were refurbed by Exel not long before I traded it

It was just the next evolution of an already brilliant car. The only thing I didn’t like on the 997TT was the terribly short 1st gear, other than that I regret selling it as it would have been pretty much free motoring for the last 5 years

Yes, its definitely your old car. 1st gear indeed very tricky, but the manual gearbox paired with that engine just adds so much character - iffy 1st, followed by a shift to 2nd and then 3rd with the mountain of power/torque/traction each shift up is just incredible.

Sadly, I sold it in 2020 after 3 years of great experiences, including driving it to Florence, Italy.
Great, great car.
