FIFA were pressured into making the right decision, think FIA may too.

FIFA haven't banned Russian players from anything have they? Just Russian teams (which F1 doesn't have, at least technically).

I think allowing Russian team members (be they drivers or anything else) to continue is the right thing to do, which of course doesn't mean that the Mazapins themselves shouldn't be sanctioned/banned from entering Western countries/whatever if they are close enough to the Kremlin to warrant it.

Sanction those with the connections then. In F1's case.. that chump Mazepin.

I dont have any issue with Russian drivers or sports people who are in no way connected with the regime tbh. Although I agree neutrality it terms of flags and anthems for the time being. Russia itself is not to be celebrated right now.

I'd not made the initial connection between teams and players.
However with the need to distance themselves from Russia I image there will be clubs asking for comments from Russian team members world wide. Or there will be some unhappy sponsors.

Do they not need visas to get into the race country? If so, if he gets refused a visa then he can't race anyway.

Ya that's...very aggravating. I'll have no problem with them if they publicly denounce this war of aggression and call for it to end.

If there is any use of the word "situation" or "respectful dialogue", kick those bootlickers out onto the fking street. All chances for respect died when Russia invaded a sovereign democratic country and then put it's nuclear arsenal on its' highest alert.

fk Russia, Slava Ukraine!

Respectively Disagree. This is the moment to ban Russian teams, drivers, money etc. Putin thrives on legitimacy for the sporting ideal. Kick them all out for now as a show of solidarity.

I wonder if Haas’ legal issue is that the money hasn’t arrived?

I think players and people competing in sport, who are just getting on with their job should be allowed to do so, regardless of what their politicians are getting up too.

Fine, go after Mazapin, and the oligarchs.

I'm also a bit uneasy at this total disregard the effect sanctions will have on the normal Russian people, it's them who suffer the most. I bet we will see loads of distressed children in war torn Ukraine, not so many starving babies in Russia because of our sanctions. It feels like we are carpet bombing the people instead of fighting the military.

The FIA is affiliated to the IOC. The IOC has banned Russian athletes. So, the FIA are ignoring the IOC's decision.

The Mazepin's are currently under the same sanctions as the other Russian oligarchs aren't they anyway? So Nikita is unlikely to be given a visa to the 19-20 races he needs them for this season. And that's before the small issue of whether or not the money for his drive will even be available. At this point if Fittipaldi isn't in the car for Bahrain testing it'll be a massive surprise

Nope - ALL Russians must be made realise and understand the evilness of the regime they live under. Care for innocent civilians in Ukraine is noticeably lacking as far as Putin and the Russian military is concerned. Being unable to participate in a sport is a minor inconvenience compared to having a guided missile coming through your window.

Russians, of all persuasions and positions, MUST be made realise the awfulness of what is being done in their name.

Haasaspin, the way you screw over people got you in the door. Now, the way you screw over people appropriately shows you the exit...

No time for the self-entitled. The less there are the better I feel.
