Well, I've been meaning to ask your advice on a new TV for a couple of months but things have moved on a pace literally overnight! I've Been dropping subtle hints to Wifey about replacing the 43" KDL Bravia when out of the blue yesterday she announces she wants a Samsung 32" Frame TV in the kitchen!! ...."of course we can darling" ....You can guess the rest rofl

Even persuaded her to go for a 43" Frame hehe So this Tuesday both TV's arrive with a sneaky side order of a Samsung HW-Q700A sounbar whistle

So to late to ask for advice (unless it's to send it back) are they any good? Will i be blown away by the difference with the oldish Bravia?

Yes I sort of get that as the same was said when i bought the Bravia which is not even full HD. This is probably my last TV (unless we move and have space for larger than 55") so at least this time it's ready for when 8K is more prevalent (yes I've read also that 55" is technically too small for any real benefit with 8K but hey-ho)

Are you familiar with Samsung "One Connect" models? As I'm hoping to be able to do away with my BT box and use their app, connect direct from my router and use my NordVPN for streaming the 'iffy' stuff etc all from the supplied single remote. I also use a Hue Sync Box which I fear wont work TV built in apps cry I'll find out tomorrow as just got my delivery slot for early morning - fingers crossed.

Good news thanks. You using ethernet cable or wifi? I forgot to get a cable long enough for direct coupling. My current set-up is router to laptop via wifi then hdmi cable to TV which works ok but assume ethernet to TV would be even better?

Update on that point: turned out my BT Youview Box is technically hard wired to my router via BT powerline adaptor which has a spare ethernet port so now supplies the TV as well.

Very impressed with the picture quality a huge difference in fact. Setting it all up was a breeze as everything just seemed to be plug and play and off to go.
Can now run it all (so far) with just the one remote. Even my Hue lights Sync Box works (couldn't get them to sync to music before).

Talking of Hue Sync, everything i've read suggests it can't work with TV dedicated apps which is understandable as the source needs to go through the sync box. So that's got me thinking - 'IF' the apps are onboard the One Connect box as opposed to the TV itself then is there such a thing as a HDMI to One Box adaptor? If so i'd think the Hue lights would work for everything.
