MX5 ND - Looking for some general advice car is just 6 years old and passed its MOT at 50000 miles. The only advisory was suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement Nearside Rear Lower and Offside Rear Lower, see attached photos.

I have asked my local Mazda dealer for a quote which has come in at £1545.00 for rear suspension work. What alternatives do I have, I have read numerous reports of suspension issues, the car has a full dealer service history but well out of warranty. Based on their quote is this replacing all the main suspension bushes as it seems a lot to replace 2 bushes. I am based near Chester in the North West, any recommendations for a good independent garage.

I look forward to your thoughts.

Yeah, suppose you might know a thing or 2 about suspension 🙂

I’ve got your pads & they’re great.👍🏻

I've heard a couple of those rear bushes are failing prematurely, and Mazda will only sell you the whole hub.

MX5 parts have the Mazda hub for £500 ish per side if you want to stay OE, and they're now selling polybushes you can push in it you don't.
