Hi,
Got a question for you knowledgeable Honda people regarding Spoon's rigid subframe collars if anyone has any long term experience with them...
I am interested in getting these for my car, a Suzuki Swift in this case, but I have one concern about fitting these to a daily driver in the uk regarding galvanic corrosion seeing as our roads are liberally dosed with salt in the winter. On install I would plan on coating all parts in insulating grease or similar and I do apply Lanogaurd to the underside of my car.

For any that have had these installed for several years have you had any issues?

I have emailed Spoon with the same question so hopefully they will respond.

Thanks in advance,
Andy.

Spoon UK replied explaining the collars sre made out of Duralumin, so corrosion is possible but should be negated using the supplied installation grease. As previously said I top up my cars underside anti corrosion every year so I am satisfied it should be fine. They recently had an S2000 in that has had the rigid collars fitted 7 years ago and no to very little signs of corrosion.

Spoon started releasing these subframe collars over a decade ago, doing my own research and trawling through thousands of reviews on minkara Japan I have found no one noting adverse effects from installation.

I’ve had these fitted to my Dc5 with no issues at all. Easily been 4/5 year and still going strong!
