I'd like to replace the number plate on my Guzzi, however.....
It's currently got the original plaque which is around 17 x 14cm ( Its homologated with the appropriate serial number ) and I wish to replace it with one of the same dimensions.
Even better an aluminium one, I don't like acrylic ones.
Does anyone know where I can get one made up that is similarly homologated as everywhere I've looked so far you either have a choice of the later barn door plates or buying a non homologated one and due to the number of controles I've seen recently I'd rather be 100% legal. Thanks.

I just bought a set for the Aston from this guy. He's in Spain but they are French homologated and legal; https://www.mesplaques.fr/

Thanks but I've already tried that site - the only bike ones they sell homologated are 210 x 130mm which is the current legal size.Doofus said:

Again, thanks for your attempts to help, but the plate needs to be 100% legal.I can buy the French equivalent of a show plate with ease - but that's not what I want

That's the thing, my current plate is 100% legal - I just can't get a replacement!!It appears that I'm a victim of poorly drafted ( or intentionally so ) legislation.
The current regs only apply to bikes registered after 1.1.2015.
My plate WAS legal when the bike was registered, the plate on my bike remains legal, but its showing it's age, hence trying to get a like for like replacement.
It now appears that post 1.1.2017 all plates supplied for bikes must be slightly smaller than a barn door, however if I drive a 1990 Renault rust bucket, I can still buy a yellow rear plate for that which again is no longer legal to put on a car registered today but that's French law for you.
Ah well, I'll just open another bottle of red...... c'est la vie!
As a point of interest, where are you seeing these controles? Country lanes? In towns?
I've got both a correctly sized number plate and a modern legal sized barn door for my Vespa. 1984 model, but registered in France last year when I imported it. It's on black and silver collection plates.
I was going to put the little one on it but if I'm going to get pulled then perhaps I shouldn't.

On the bike I've had 3 in the last year or so, usually on the edge of towns where there's a reasonable traffic flow.
