Subaru Legacy/Outback 2.5i

Looking at picking up a cheapish but comfortable general runaround and quite fancy a Subaru.

I've spent a bit of time driving an older manual 2.5i Legacy but haven't been in the newer models with the lineartronic CVT.

Does anyone have any experience?
