Britsih Grand Prix - Honest Parking Advice
Discussion
Hi All
I'm due to attend my first ever F1 Grand Prox at Silverston in July. I have booked my tickets (General Admission) but not yet booked parking and I'd really appreciate some honest advice from you regulars, There seems to be a range of options -
1. Parking on site - Car Park 1 £75 full weekend
2. Park and Ride - Car Park 2 £75 full weekend
3. P1 Parking - £75 full weekend
4. Remote parking and walk there - cheaper options.
I've ruled out option 4 as I don't think I'll want a long walk after spending all day on my feet.
I know there's going to be lots of traffic but I'm wondering what the park and ride is like? Are there massive queues for the buses? Do the buses get caught in all the traffic arriving and leaving?
I really want to know whether I'm better parking nearby (options 1 and 3) or trying park and ride. What are the views on Car Park 1 or P1 Parking?
Any advice would be gratefully received!
Many thanks for reading.

Luke manages to ruin every single F1 or Silverstone thread with this constant bleating and whining, that things aren’t exactly as they were 30 years ago. He knows you have to pay for parking, he’s whined about it on many other threads so it’s all just trolling. Don’t throw him the bait.
Add in the patronising comments to anyone who dares go to a premium UK motorsport event that they are a mug and that we should all stay at home and watch F1 highlights on C4 because why would anyone even pay to watch something on live TV that was free all those years ago….
Reality is his sport has changed, he doesn’t like it, he doesn’t want others to like it and he’s a bitter old prick.

We parked on site on the Sunday, seemed to take ages to get out after the race, so many queues.
It's was a great day (apart from Copse). Compared to previous years, I thought the Sunday schedule was a bit thin, so a bit more waiting around than I remember. Hopefully there will be more races to watch in 2022.
Have a great day!

There really is no need for foul language, I simply point out that modern sports events are massively expensive, they always were dear, but now they have exploded, and people seem happy to pay it, regardless.
Parking for me, I would look at locals advertising, you could probably park on someone's drive for less than half that price. for the three days, if i lived there I would certainly be open to it, as I would not be there that weekend for obvious reasons

Park and ride worked well for us last year, but I'm not sure how early the first buses will be on Sunday? You'll really want to be there early to get a spot.
I'd consider upgrading to a grandstand seat if you can, much more relaxing knowing you have a seat to go to and don't have to sit in one place all day.

I parked here:
https://www.silverstoneschoolsparking.co.uk/book-t...
Its a primary school charity and £40 for the weekend. 10 min walk to the track, easier to get out after the race than the circuit.

I have done several F1 weekends at Silverstone. I used the car parks until Park & Ride became available. Funnily enough it used to be free! I then discovered option 3 and used them every year until I gave up due to ticket prices.
There are only three ways to do it really.
1. Helicopter. Many firms offer to fly you in/out. I never used such a service
2. Not sure even if someone offers such a service anymore but many years ago a company took you to the gate over the field by 4x4
3. I eventually found Silverstone Schools Charity Parking. They also do breakfast baps

Motorbike……. It’s FREE
As to ticket prices…. Last year it cost £300 odd quid for the Vale grandstand…. Back in 1990’ish (can’t remember exact year) it cost me close to £300 for a Friday ticket, Saturday and Sunday GENERAL admission You had to but each ticket individually… so make of that what you will. Last year was amazing value for money for what is the premier world motorsport chamionship.
