Corsica Holiday Advice

Wise People
Can anyone help? I want to book a nice farmhouse/guesthouse in Corsica for a weeks holiday. Has anyone any good recommendations? Ideally something that is quite close to civilisation and not too rural.
Any advice much appreciated.

Well, you have two choices. It's either east coast or west coast.
The far south is for the hardened water-sports fans (no, not THAT sort).
Take a sick bag if you passenger through the mountains. Those roads are TWISTY.

If it's east coast, look out for the ruins of the barn that was blown up during some civil dispute in (IIRC) the early 70s...

Sailed into Bonafacio once (southeren tip) through an entrance worthy of pirates, but for the lighthouses you would think that you were headed for the cliffs!

A long narrow cliff lined entrance leads you to the harbour in the centre of town which is topped by the French Foreign Legions Fort atop the cliffs.

If you go to a restaurant there, don't do as I did. One of our "crew" went to pour some wine from the the caraffe of wine on the table, I stopped him and said: "Hey! Not before'a Pappa!(i.e. capt) (in an italian accent.

The whole place looked around, obviously they hadn't forgotten the recent "blowing up" of fishing boats in the harbour in some sort of turf wars! .......................
