FHM is trying to tell me something!

Stuck for something to read whilst the braincells retire to sleep, I bought FHM - upon opening it, the usual avalanche of junk splayed forth onto my bedroom floor - paying no attention I left it there (yes, I don't tidy my bedroom often - so sue me!)

I've just had a look at it and have found not one, not even two - infact not even five - but SEVEN copies of the same advert (alliance and leicester loans urging me to go topless with a 6.4% typical apr loan)...

so not only does daytime TV encourage people to get into debt, but so does brain-off reading material too!!

...yup.. the government are so concerned that people are getting into too much debt, and being one of the main causes of divorce/broken families (debt that is) they feel they should just ignore it and carry on regardless. I'm surprised the enviromentals haven't tried to do something about it. Just think how much paper is wasted every day with adverts, pamphlets, bits of crap in magazines, newspapers, put through letterbox, etc, that does not even get looked at. We would all benefit then!!

What's more worrying is highstreet bank's reports of the rate of growth of their bad debts. I recall an article on it last week and HSBC and RBOS are due to report signifcant growth this week.

Tide seems to be turning. And I've just put my house on the market (six months after the peek in this area). Pants.
