Halfords are so thoughtful.

There have been a few rain showers around here in south Hampshire today, but I decided to take my V8S out with the roof down anyway as I needed to buy some stuff at Halfords for my "other" car.

Imagine my surprise when I turned in to the car park and not only found the first two parking bays empty, but they had "Halfords" logo'd gazebo's over them so I drove straight in and parked under cover! :laugh: If only I'd had my camera with me.

Anyway, I'd only been in the store for about 30 seconds when a chap walked up to me and said "Is that your TVR outside?". I expected him to say I shouldn't have parked there, but no, he was another "S" owner who wanted to talk TVR.

When I left the store it was obvious that there had been another rain shower, but my car was dry as a bone under the shelter that Halfords provided. What nice people they are. :thumbup:

Kinda bugs me when other people refer to these guys who work in these places such as, Halfrauds, monkeys in Kwik Fit etc, as the majority of them are car nuts like ourselves.
Good to see someone that appreciates the service they provide.

Heres a can of worms, I have constantly been disgusted by the level of service / attention i (dont) recieve when ever i go into any of the bristol halfords branches, this may not be the case in other parts of the uk...so a big fan i aint!

And its been the same on every single occasion...too much to be a coincidence.

I am glad to hear that this isnt a national trend.

As for other areas of the motor accesory / rapid fit type businesses - i have always been pleased and as you rightly point out these guys a probably petrol heads too.

halfords can vary a lot from branch to branch - the one near where i live is good, always staff asking if you are ok, if they can help etc...

the one near my work is not as good, but sufferable

the one 5 miles from here is bigger, but totally hopeless, you can never find staff, they never ever know the answer, if you judged the whole chain by that one branch you would never go back...

I went into the Christchurch branch as I was bored. Just generally browsing but had a question and thought I'd ask on the off chance he wasn't an ignorant loser.

He was bloooody helpful, even going outside to my car to show me how to remove the door panels. Top top bloke. He even recommended I buy any audio kit from another shop in Bournemouth as its cheaper.

Very impressed, but when I went upstairs to get an inner tube there was a totally useless git reading a mag when he should have been working and the whole bike area was a tip (liteally, boxes all over the place, needed a BIG clean).

C'est la vie
