For those with the official extended warranty (purchased through BMW), could you tell me if it’s underwritten or provided by AWP P&C SA (Allianz I believe) please ?
Thanks

Yes it is. AWP stands for Allianz Worldwide Partners.

Thanks Nick.

Looking to get an extended warranty (not BMW) and have noticed it’s the same company.
Wasn’t sure how good they were…

Not sure but have a look at the policy wording.

For me the 2 big draws of the BMW product underwritten by AWP is that it includes wear and tear and that the BMW dealers have delegated authority, which makes life easier.

Also there is no claim limit on the comprehensive and named component policies (apart from the value of the car).

The big downsides with it is that it is only decent value if it hasn't been interrupted either after the original warranty or after a AUC cover. If not, it's almost twice as much.

The fact that AWP u/w the policy you're looking at might not mean that it is as good a product ; the detail in the policy wording should answer that question. I assume it is cheaper though?

It’s certainly cheaper than the BMW warranty (I enquired when I had my M2C - about £1600 per year).
This is for a Stelvio Quad - £1033 for 2 years with no excess, provided by an Alfa main dealer.

£1,600 sounds like the higher price when interrupted. Should be around £1,000/year if not, that's what I pay.

£500/year sounds like excellent value, depending on the coverage. Wear and tear? Claim limit?

I need to read the small print for those items..!

Yes, the £1600 was for my old car which is now out of warranty and still for sale at the dealer, so I used the reg for a quote.
