I guess i may not be the only one having problems in contacting Carcoon??

I ordered new fans online last August... nada , nothing.. chased up via website, emails & phone over the next few months - still NO RESPONSE

i rang many times with no one answering the phone, left messages, never returned

eventually got through on the phone early this month and spoke to a pleasant lady called Joyce, who used the 'its covid' excuse, but we exchanged a couple of emails to confirm the parts required... then again total silence!!

only good thing is they (yet not) have not debited my credit card

is the company bust?
do they care about their customers?

i used rant on how good their products are - no more, as they have S*** customer service

Same happened to me. I put an order in middle of November and have had nothing, nothing via email or phone.

I ended up sending an email telling them not to charge and bought one on ebay instead.

I am afraid this is not something new. Last year I had a terrible time trying to contact them and to get them to respond to me. When they eventually did they cocked up my order. Such a good product administered unfortunately by a clueless sales department. How do they survive?
It's one of the great business mysteries! Note to prospective buyers....Good luck with that!

This doesn’t look like it’s gotten any better. I have ordered online and now… nothing. Emails and calls unanswered.

I really want their outdoor product, but no idea whether I am getting it or not. Really disappointing.

Try Airchamber instead if you're buying new. Similar product, last time I contacted them they were good.

They work differently, an Airchamber is like a Carcoon with the drying vent permanently open.

I just managed to get mine a couple of weeks ago, outside version. It was a struggle though. Decent piece of kit, orbs my first one.

Dunc.

I have one. They work similarly. The Airchamber inflates in the same way, assemble the frame and job done. The bubble is fully closed, the air leaks slightly through the zip and the velco. There is a drying vent if you want to use it. The only difference is the Carcoon uses a carbon filter.

How do they differ apart from the carbon filter?

The Airchamber constantly moves air through the chamber across the car, whereas the Carcoon (with the drying vent closed) is supposed to maintain a pressurised controlled environment to stop condensation forming.

If airchamber is like carcoon but with the drying vent permanently open,, its just a quicker air exchange

'Supposed' being the operative word. They are both containers with zips and velcro with the interior at a slightly higher pressure than outside, maintained by continuously running fans. In both the zips and velcro leak air continuously. With the Airchamber drying vent closed they operate in the same way. The carbon filters merely remove dust and fuel vapours, the vapours would be expelled anyway through the zips etc. The Airchamber doesn't use carbon filters but has fine mesh filters on the fans to keep out particulates.

I've not done it but I'd wager the relative humidity inside both products is the same as the outside. They work by circulating air ensuring that the car and the environment are at the same temperature thus preventing condensation. Condensation occurs on a relatively cold surface, prevent that and you don't get it. They don't actually dry the air at all.

I don't bother with the fans and just use it as a bag and put a dehumidifier inside set at 40-45% relative humidity. It kicks in rarely so costs almost nothing to run.

I have a few cars that have been in Carcoons (indoor and outdoor) long-term. They definitely work.

I did the same put a small dehumidifier inside the Carcoon, as you say it seemed to work well. Only problem I ever had was the snow flattening the carcoon.
Once I got used to the frig of getting the car in it was fine. Nowadays I have just bought a very high quality outdoor cover and so far very pleased.

Yes they do as do Airchambers but in the manner described above.

Mine is in a barn/garage so thankfully don't have that issue.
