Should I do this to my tuscan?
Discussion
As always, I really appreciate everyones opinions on this forum even if its a shot of 'common sense' and i'm told 'don't be a dick'. Ive owned my Tuscan for 12 years - doesn't get out much due to family and life etc and (pre covid) Ive even used my tuscan at car shows to raise money for various charities by letting folk sit in it etc etc (raised several grand so far) - So... an old friend who is a graphic designer, popped back up recently and he works for a well established vehicle livery company in Glasgow. They have done some cracking work. Anyway, they have offered to do a full Gulf livery of my Tuscan to match the well known picture attached. It shows off their skills and they will use it fpr promo photo shoots and I get a Gulf Tuscan out of it. Question is - how many of you would do this to your cars, is it cool or naff? I love it but my wife and son already refuse to go in the Tuscan as they say its too embarrassing having folk staring and pointing. Is this just a step too far? (i'm seriously tempted!) thanks guys and tell me the truth - i'm pretty thick skinned (or just pretty thick) - cheers!

Would the Gulf livery be a vinyl wrap, removable at a later date : or a permanent paint job? If the latter, I think it would make the car very difficult to sell in the future.
My own view, for what it's worth, is that the current car looks cool. The Gulf colours would look fine on a track, but elsewhere it is far too "Look at meeee ".

In which case it's going to be a great charity money raiser once done, lots of people would love to sit in a racing car and have a few pics takenThere would also be an opportunity to raise more money from people that were taken for a drive in a racing car
By the way, nicely done with your fund raising, you are a very good person and I hope that many good things come your way in the future
You guys are terrific - some excellent points. I'm really going to have to think about this now! - its a vinyl wrap rather than a respray so can come off - I'm seriously tempted. The company is called UGFX www.ugfx.co.uk and heres some pictures of their work (I love the Ultima they have wrapped). I'm not sure about future fund raising efforts as I organised this privately direct with the charities (who supplied me with barcoded and numbered collection tins) but the event organizers then went into a major huff saying they had their own sponsored charities and I was not to collect money for other charities without their permission. So I asked their permission. The answer was no, so I did it anyway! following photos were from a small local Glasgow car show where in one afternoon I raised over £450 for Erskine Hospital (who look after army veterans of all ages). This was done by simply asking for a small donation of any amount to sit in the car. Absolutely no idea who Batman is - he just turned up and sat in the car and we got even more money in the tins.
Seriously guys, next car show you do, pick a small local charity and let the public sit in your car for a small donation. You will be amazed how respectful folk are - my car has never been damaged by doing this and you will be told how everyone else with fancy expensive cars won't even let them anywhere near them let alone sit in one. Expect a few grubby finger prints but its well worth it to hand over tins full of money. Thanks again guys - you have been terrific.
