UAE are not going to just sit back and take that.

Not sure what they will do that they aren't already doing.

I don't know.

Certainly lots that goes on in Africa seems to pass with a whisper here. Maybe they're just too excited over Boris, or maybe it's the cash from Saudi that isn't making them feel like talking about Yemen too much. Perhaps it's just how long the situation has been going on for has exceeded their attention span.

Doesn't feel like our press are getting the balance right with some of the serious events happening around the world at the moment.

Maybe look in the Middle East section of the Beeb website rather than Africa...

I don't browse any sections of any news website.

Mate of mine worked out there (at the airport) for a long time and told me they had been attacked before, which was not reported in their press at the time. Interesting to see it being reported now.

  1. Considering the Saudis have a sea and air blockade against Yemen, that is extremely unlikely. The US/UK and others are party to a genocide in Yemen.

Drone warfare is big in that area. Saudi are constantly alerting about drones going over, being destroyed.
Interesting in that there's been movement in the selling counter drone stuff and microwave weapons to Iran.

Indictment and guilty plea
Saber Fakih, 46, of the United Kingdom, conspired with Bader Fakih, 41, of Canada, Altaf Faquih, 70, of the United Arab Emirates, and Alireza Taghavi, 46, of Iran, to export and attempt to export an Industrial Microwave System (IMS) and counter-drone system from the United States to Iran

The indictment was interesting in that it said the US-made industrial microwave system “can be used, with minor modifications, … as a high-power microwave based directed-energy weapons system capable of targeting personnel”. Is that similar to the claims made about attacks against embassy staff in Cuba?
