I'm pondering over a 48" OLED (can't go any bigger due to positioning) now the prices have come down slightly. TV would be wall mounted so would obviously need a suitable bracket. I'm not sure I would add a soundbar but needs to be able to easily connect to a pair of bluetooth headphones. Has anyone any views on which is the best out of the lot below, or is there anything else in the pipeline due to be released?
Cheers

Personally I'd go for the LG C1. The sony picture might be marginally better, but I much prefer the LG operating system based on my recent LG and Sony tvs. The Sony Android is frustrating at times.
Good point re OS - heard a few negative things about Android. Also, I don't think the Sony comes with Freeviewminiman said:
Have you considered Samsung QLED Neo? Amazing panel.
Mmmm, not heard of that. Is it a better picture quality than OLED? The TV is for a bedroom, so won't see much natural daylightRadec said:
The Panasonic JZ will be the best for PQ if watching movies is the main purpose.
LG will probably be the best overall for features Vs price.
Cheers. I'll have a look at the Pan. I had a quick Google last night and I *think* the Sony came out best for picture.. can't remember if the Pan was in the test or not thoughLG will probably be the best overall for features Vs price.
I'd go for the Sony personally (I've watched many reviews for the Sony and LG and bought the Sony in the end)...
Reasons:
The Bravia XR signal processing is better for lower res viewing, like normal TV. It's marginal, not a lot in it admittedly ...but still a bit better IMO. For high res 4k viewing there really won't be anything in it. Both will be fantastic.
You don't have to sign in with your Google account if you don't want all the bells and whistles. But having the option of installing most of the Google play store apps is a nice to have if you're that way inclined.
The LG will have 4x HDMI 2.1 120hz VRR inputs, where the Sony has two, plus two normal HDMI inputs. For most people this isn't a concern unless you have multiple games consoles that actually support 120hz.
The Sony will pass DTS over ARC, where the LG won't. Only an issue if you have a multi channel Home cinema amp connected (that in itself can be a minefield, but don't worry about it if that's not your thing)
The standard Sony built in speakers are really very good indeed. Not sure about the LG's?
Summary. The LG is a strong runner up, but better processing and Google play store access nips it to the post.

I had this decision a few days ago with my girlfriends parents. They went with the LG C1 in the end, but from Costco, which was on offer for £899, a helpful amount cheaper than your pic! I know you werent asking about where to buy from but I would look into both Costco and Richer Sounds in addition to John Lewis.
Gfs parents bought an LG soundbar (also from Costco) with the money they saved.

Thanks. I won't be using external speakers initially (maybe something like a Sonos Beam but mainly for music aiplayed? from iPhone). I imagine we would be using it mostly for Netflix / Prime. Although not a gamer I like the thought of buying/adding a console for racing games Reasons:

It has Freeview and YouViewminiman said:
What I found with YouView on my Sony is that you can't use the YouView on-demand / catch-up features until it has scanned all the terrestrial freeview channels, which is a pain if you don't have an aerial.
^^^ This. The bit about the Sony needing an aerial is what I was thinking re my post above saying the Sony doesn't have Freeview etc

I can see that getting the guide up may be impossible without an aerial connection (and I would suspect most/all tvs would be in the same boat) but surely you can use iplayer etcPhooey said:
That's all good then - not sure where I've got myself mixed up! Although I've just realised I don't have an aerial socket in the bedroom. Can you watch Freeview and normal channels (BBC1, CH4 etc) without an aerial?
You can watch live TV using the built in app on the TV, but it acts a bit like a front end to BBC iplayer, ITV hub etc. I found it super clunky and not very streamlined at all.Bottom line, if you want live TV you need an aerial still. I don't think the UK is there yet with regards to streaming terrestrial TV with a seamless app.
