CSCC Future Classics 2022
Discussion
I read in another thread that CSCC Future Classics rules have changed this year (allowing Group 4) and as such my Corvette might be eligible.
Anyone have any experience with them?
How clean is the racing?
Is it still proper club racing or has it gone the way of many and become elitist and arrive and drive?

Hi Oneball,
You recently posted in my Corvette reader cars thread. I'm biased, as I'm a CSCC Director, but I view the racing as clean and as damage free as is possible to achieve, with a real cross section of budgets. No question that some are spending a fair sum, whilst others compete on a similar budget to me (on a bare minimum). Series Representative, Richard Thurbin (Thurbs on here) is best to ask about eligibility, personally I'd love to see another Corvette on the grid. If it isn't eligible for Future Classics then it will certainly fit into other CSCC series.
Best regards, David

Thanks David, just trying to find a home. Although the car’s eligible for Masters, Peter Auto and all those sort of things I’m after something that’s more like what I call club racing, it’s not really about who spends what but more the friendliness. Good to hear it’s pretty clean.

CSCC is friendly, driving standards are high , and well monitored , the paddock is friendly and entrants vary from blokes in tents on a shoestring to the comfortably affluent. Speak to Dave Smitheram at the Club - he's a very helpful guy and also a Corvette owner.
Thank you, good to hear. Although I’ve not even got a tent

That's me

I can say that having raced for many organisations in UK, USA, and Europe, that CSCC are one of the most “club racing”. The fields are large, which means you always get to race someone, and the standards are high (by desire or enforcement). I race with Tin Tops but Future Classics seem to be the same. Great place to go racing when you are prepping and fixing your own car

The CSCC is a fantastic club
Yes some people are well off, but you won’t feel out of place as a true clubman swinging spanners in your shed. Hopefully I’ll be joining you in an XJS, just need to get the thing built!
Off-thread, sorry, but can I ask what suspension you will be fitting please? Is it a late XJS?

Thanks, been racing for many years too. Bought the cheapest running Vette I could find 2 years ago and it’s just about back together now.Edited by Oneball on Monday 17th January 07:15

I’d echo this. A great racing club. PGNSagaris said:

I’d echo this. A great racing club. Last year was my first year racing in the CSCC, having raced with most clubs and championships over the last 12 years i can say the Future classics is by far the most friendly and welcoming club by far, it brought back the fun, friendly, non stressed nature to the paddock and both the car owner and myself enjoyed the racing.

Thanks, M3 looks great.
Another vote for CSCC. We raced all this year with them (we also did a few one off rounds a few years ago) in Modern Classics. Nice friendly club and always enough cars racing to have some fun

CSCC is a great place to race, with your pride and joy. Close, safe racing amongst fellow like minded racers. A well run club and ,members are very friendly and helpful.
Raced this in Future classic's for 8 years , Fantastic club and fellow racers in Future Classic's are friendly safe and fast racers with very high standards. Club racing at it's best.
