Garage for Jaguar- Stonehaven/Aberdeen(shire)
Discussion
Recently moved to Stonehaven and looking for somewhere local to trust with my XJ (2.7 diesel). Looking to get the air compressor replaced in the new year along with a few other things.
North East 4x4 are close by and mention Jaguar 4x4's although I'm assuming that would extend to cars easily enough.
I'm looking for somewhere relatively close by, aware there doesn't seem to be a proper specialist in the area but the likes of Prestige Jaguar in Paisley are too much of a trek for all but the most specialist stuff.

not a great lot of help but i stayed on Pittodrie Place for 9 years. Around the corner next to AW Autotech there was always a handful of Jaguars parked there and a bunch of old boys always tinkering with them.
Could be worth phoning AW Autotech and asking if those guys are still there and if they do any maintenance or it's just a hobby.

Ardarroch Road ? If so those were not old boys tinkering! It is / was ? Davie Cunningham's. Probably one of the best Jaguar specialists in the UK. I believe it was probably his son you would have seen, as I imagine Davie senior would be dead by now. I can remember him from my teenage years and I'm now a pensioner. Someone more knowledgeable may see this and update accordingly. Good luck.

I use First Drive Cars just outside Stonehaven. Really nice folks, always busy, which is a good sign and never had any issue with any works done there.

Thanks for the suggestions but I ended up booking in with Northeast 4x4 before I saw the replies.

When I had my first XKR someone mentioned there, but apparently they wouldn't touch anything after the straight-six/V12 era cars so that ruled them out for my V8. Not sure if that position has altered in more recent years though.Edited by Gramrugby on Friday 7th January 07:42

For my Jaguar F-Type I've been using the Westhill garage recently. They replaced the supercharger and more recently the water pump and some coolant hoses. One of the guys is ex Jaguar, served there for a long time I believe. Great service.
That's good to know, thanks. The main chap there is an ex-Mercedes master tech I gather, we used them once or twice on our old M Class. No complaints about the work but the labour rates were relatively high. Still far lower than main dealers though.Gramrugby said:

Thanks Patrick. That was the son of the Davie I remember. Shock to hear that he's now also dead.
Same school as meI remember his dad picked him up from school once in a red corvette with huge wheels side exit exhaust
I was gobsmacked
In the 60s in Aberdeen there weren’t many exiting cars around
