Front parking sensor/display not working - 2014 CRV

We have parking sensors on our 2014 CRV (recently acquired) that were not from factory, but a dealer fit.
There are led displays in back above rear window - these work OK (gradually adds more orange lights then a couple of red ones when v close).
The front display (at base of windscreen) doesn’t work at all, no lights even when close to something.
There is a cable tied black box (3 inch by 2 inch thing with some wired connectors) by fuse board. Pretty sure that’s the controller. There are no buttons on controller or in car that I can find to turn anything on/off.
Any ideas on how to diagnose? Not sure which manufacturer Honda dealers are likely to have used, if I had I could google that brand to see if there are any “instructions”….
