Do people still make control line aircraft? I used to make them when I was a child. At the time I couldn’t afford to switch to RC. Haven’t made one in over 40 years but since having retired I have time on my hands and thinking about it.

Anyone else started again after so long?

Looking at plans on the internet I do wonder now how I managed to make them back then. I suppose I could start with a kit but as much pleasure came from building them as flying them.

You watch the aeroplane not the background. Years since I last flew C/L but never had an issue.

Plus when you do loops etc you don’t need to keep turning

This brings back memories, I started off with a Veron Colt with a DC sabre engine. most of my mates started with the Green (Keil Kraft ?) pre built Hurricanes with the little Cox motor.
I then progressed to a 2 year build of a Spitfire Mk22 with coupled flaps and elevators but crashed it very badly after a few flights so got did heartened and ended moving to RC cars (Tamiya Sand Scorcher).

We just used to fly in the local park and people would just watch and stay out of the way.... not sure you'd get away with that these days!
