Daily driving an Evo 8 MR?

Hello everyone,
I am the current owner of a 2016 BMW M135i Auto and I love it. It’s fast, comfy and reliable. I use it as a daily driver and do around 8000 - 10000 miles a year.
My reason for posting is because I have recently fallen in love with my childhood dream car the Evo 8/9’s. I would have this car over anything on the road currently.
I really want to buy one but given the price I would have to surrender my daily driver BMW and replace it with the Evo becoming my new daily driver.
I have seen some clean and freshly imported examples and there is one quite close to where I live which would be within my price range. My only worry is destroying the car as it would be used in winter on the beautifully Salty UK roads. I look after my cars and would keep it as clean and salt free as possible but there is only so much you can do. The car I’m looking at has had a bare metal strip down and has been coated in Raptor, if that makes any difference.
What’s the consensus on this? Would it be a good idea to Daily an Evo 8 or is it going to fall to dust within the year? Would it be a reliable daily?

While not an Evo I had to really keep on top when I used my R33 Skyline year round, and even then I think it could've gone bad if I'd kept on doing it for years. It was also cold, uncomfortable and generally unhappy place to be in during rush out with the other sleepy morons that infest our roads. Final straw for me was someone drove into it in the work car park then drove off 
If you can keep it in a garage when at home then you might be ok as the last 18months I owned it I did this with the Skyline. I replaced it with my Toyota Crown which manages to do just enough of both ends (lazy commuting/back road fun) well enough, as it's newer it just lives on the driveway.

As a general point, competition cars make really cr@ppy daily drivers.

When I was teaching English in Japan a colleague had an Evo 5, used it to take four of us out for a meal, was perfectly comfortable to be in as I recall.
My '96 RX-7 was my only car 2012-19, doing about 5k miles a year on average. It had a few rust issues but nothing terrible. Lived outside for most of that time, too.
Mind you, where in the UK you live might affect things, if you live in Scotland or by the sea I might be a little more concerned. Conversely if most of your miles are in heavy traffic, it's probably not worth having a car like an Evo with a manual box for that.
I think if you start with a clean import, get it well protected to start with, probably fine.
It will cost more in fuel, servicing and tyres, and be a bit less relaxing on long journeys I guess. So know what you're getting into.
Do you have a good garage nearby that can look after it?
Overall though, I think the positives of driving your dream car, and really spending time with it over a variety of roads, plus something that'll likely hold its value, outweigh the extra costs and inconveniences of driving an older, more highly-strung car.

I live close to a garage that specialises in these. So hopefully that will help.
