Hi all,

2 questions:
Looking at getting a weekend ticket in the 'Stirling' grandstand - looks like this will be new for 2022, it's right next to Copse. Should be OK right?

Also, parking. I understand there's Car Park 1 and Car Park 2, which one would be better? I'll be driving to and from every day, only an hour away in Leicester
Any ideas?

Thanks

Sorry no tips for car parks.
But avoid park and ride at all costs.
Our driver took the wrong turning TWICE how the F*** can a P & R driver get lost!!
As for getting the bus back to the car park... An absolute carnage fest...

When I booked my tickets the other day, it sounds like they've renamed the parking options to 'car park 1' and 'car park 2' to make car park 2 more sellable. I would say 'car park 2' is the park and ride service which Silverstone have done at F1 for years, whereas car park 1 is the normal parking at Silverstone. I've chosen car park 1 in case I need to go back to my car mid-way through the day, but the price for parking has gone up (yet) again...

It has... £75 for the weekend. Split across 3 days and 4 people it ain't so bad but I can see on your own that would be particularly st

I remember after the race this year being stuck in the traffic at Silverstone for ~1 hour. I was in a car without air con and it was a hot day, but the people on the buses (filled to the brim) looked even hotter than I did.

To be fair we used Park and Ride for the MotoGP.
It was faultless and very fast.

We used it for the F1 in 2017 and it was far better than queueing to get in and then again to get out.

Tell everyone that it costs more on race day than the other days for exactly the same service then?

Complete and utter bloody greed

Thanks all, I just went with the onsite parking in the end as there is 5 of us in the car, £15 each.

See what this new stand is like as well... it is sold out now

It's a fairly new small stand, and it isn't covered, so you have to hope for good weather. It's just before Copse Corner. Car-park wise, car-park 26 is the closest.

You will be coming into the circuit through gate 6 ideally once you have parked as that is the closest gate to Copse. You want something on the Whittlebury side of the circuit.

You do not want anything on the main entrance/Dadford Road side, because unless you have centre access, then you will have a long walk around the outside of the circuit past Woodcote, the old pit straight etc. to get to your grandstand, as you will not be able to walk under Copse tunnel.

Maybe they have put a cover on over winter. I will check the next time that I am there, which won't be today!

The first car park you want is the first one as you reach Silverstone on your left. I say this as also from near Leicester. It’s the easiest to get out of and you’ll be going home in the right direction on the M1. All other car parks will take you home on some right Donkey routes as Marshall’s/Police will only let you go one way.

No matter where you park, be ready for a wait after the race. 90 mins to get out last year

I’ve always found it easier to not bother trying to leave.

Either go and see the concert until 6pm, or embrace the whole thing by booking Sunday in the campsite, Monday off work, and head for one of the many bars around the place.

If there’s 150,000 people in one place in the middle of nowhere, it’s always going to take a few hours to empty everyone out. Goodwood FoS is the same.

Agreed, but I wasn't in the frame of mind for that after Copse!
