Removed cat and mufflers, modified Porsche cup air box, BMC filter and 1 bar, retune engine.
Boys at G-force were a bit concerned about the exhaust...
G-force: "Mr Elson your car is done, however there is a problem with the exhaust."
Me: "Really, what's that?"
G-force: "Well it's very loud and sounds like a full on race car."
Me: "Oh, I see, and you can't make it any louder?"
G-force: "???????"
Pause....
G-force: "Oh, and these flames keep coming out the back on over-run."
Me:
The big increase in torque has probably come from sorting out the 'rich running' which was killing the bottom end and removal of cat allowing the turbo to spool up quicker. I'll do a full before and after of the graphs once I get them. Just got to wait until Saturday to get the car back

Well picked up the car yesterday. Bloody hell. It sounds like a Top-Fuel dragster on startup, coughing and spluttering like they do. TurboFree insisted we swap cars for part of the drive back so I could see just how loud the thing is. This was fun. TF thought I was listening to my exhaust, actually I was just ragging the nuts of his car
So here are the results from the graphs.
BHP:
Before,Max 300 bhp at 5400 RPM, dropping off quickly.
After, Max 380 bhp at 4700 RPM, flat to 5700 RPM
Before, 150 BHP at 3200 RPM. 250 BHP at 4000 RPM
After, 250 BHP at 3200 RPM. 340 BHP at 4000 RPM
Torque (trust):
95% of max at 3200 RPM. 35% more torque (trust).
Boost:
Before, 0.72 bar at 3200 RPM dropping to 0.68 at 6000 RPM
After, 0.95 bat at 3000 RPM dropping to 0.85 at 6000 RPM
Fueling:
Almost perfect, just very slightly rich. This will probably lean-out with road driving. Hence no enrichment added.
Just a quick note about G-force. They have been exceptional. Can't be bothered to post all the details but as an example:
I told them the front right tire had a slow puncture (just incase they took it for a drive, didn't want them to be caught out by funny handling). When I picked up the car I asked if I could use the air line to check the tire and they said that they had sent the wheel and tire off to be checked and there was no leak. Now I call that good service.....
