Let's assume you are approaching the last race of the season and you're level in the championship with your nemesis who likes to push you off as you try to over take ... hypothetically speaking.
What's your best defence, and how to get past without big risk of wrecking your car?
Any real experiences of strategies that worked out well?

For me, as much as you can you do everything the same as you always do, prepare, race, qualify.

And let it happen if it will. Your team can help you and will as will your team mate, or in Max's case perhaps multiple team mates, maybe even merc engine cars will help lewis.

But if you try and do stuff all different you might lose your equilibrium

The best example of this was Rosberg when he won it, under the most immense pressure anyone has really been under for a title win yet he held it together

Tho' I'd like to see the two tribes working as teams to get their man thru to the win. Something different and entertaining to settle it this year

The rest of us have to pay our own repair bills and often have to do the work ourselves so I've never been in the situation where someone would take me out to win a championship despite being in many last race deciders.

Mind you looking at the attitude of some coming into the sport recently I wouldn't be surprised that wrecking another car to win a £20 plastic trophy becomes more common.

Don’t let him have the opportunity, don’t put yourself in a position where your rival could get away with sending you off.

Defend in a way where it would look extremely obvious if he fired you off and thus would hand you the championship anyway

Attack decisively and if you have the pace to get in front then do it strategically and not be tempted by any desperate lunges

The most important thing is to know the rules, know what you can get away with and know what he can and can’t get away with

All you need is a light tap to the rear quarter on corner entry to move them out the way.
