Hi All, So my X3M is now 2 years old and the engine oil service light has come on.

I called my local garage (Irvine, Scotland) and I have been quoted 407 GBP for the engine oil change and been told it will take 2 hours. The price seems very high to me, 2 hours labour and the cost of oil, should never be 407 ?

What are you all paying for this service ?

First service on a non-M for me was £320 back in 2019 so this doesn’t surprise me. It’s a shame it didn’t come on earlier as main dealers were doing a 20% off deal if you had it done before Christmas IIRC, just a few weeks ago.

Ps - I thought there was a running in service on X3Ms also due but after like 2k miles (your car should have probably been serviced already in line with other M cars)? Maybe use that as a guide price.

Yes it had its RIS at 1,200 miles. since this is just a oil change I wasn't expecting it to be more than I paid for a RIS.

The best I could get was £392, that includes a standard scope at £27.98 whatever that is.

£407 seems to be a little cheap to me. the RIS on mine was £500, plus they always change some other filters and do an overall inspection (whatever that is) so i suspect it will be more £550-600 once finished.

I don't think i have ever left a dealership paying what i was originally quoted on their online service portal.

Hopefully I dont end up with some "extras" added.

I'm in the west coast of Scotland and it seems we are a little cheaper than most other places, I just checked my RIS cost and it was £402 with no extra costs back in Feb 2020.
