I feel i have been given incorrect information by the Honda

Help....I was told that my tyre pressure valves need to be replaced because the tyre pressure warning light has come on on my dashboard Honda Jazz 2015 model.
Seems very strange to me that all four tyres would suddenly be faulty .
Does anyone have more facts about this problem. Their quote to replace is astronomical and quite rediculous.

One has probably gone faulty, but they don't know which one. So the only way of fixing it first time is to change all four.
You'll probably be able to order a new set of valves with transmitters online, and a tyre shop will be able to change them for you. Just make sure you get the correct ones to talk to your car - I don't have experience with Honda ones, just the Ford/Jaguar ones.

I don't think they have fancy/proper sensors, but just use the wheel speed sensors.I'd pump the tyres up to spec, reset the system and see how it goes.

One school of thought says the sensors have a limited life and if one goes, others may pack up soon, but I'd just replace the faulty one.
The agents will just be covering themselves because if they just fit one, you may come back saying the fault has returned when another fails.
There aren't many different sensors across the Honda range and you'll find most retail tyre fitting places can supply fit and code them, National Tyres do.

Well you made me look, and you're right. Seems to be a mixed bag though, with some years having those, and some years using the wheel speed sensors.Gassing Station | Suspension, Brakes & Tyres | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
