After obtaining a pair of B&W 705 S2's, I've been checking out the DB4S sub to potentially go with it.

I have been running a REL T9i for a while, wondering if the B&W would represent any kind of improvement.....read they pair well with 700 series stuff.

I use it for music 100% of the time, nothing else.

On a side note, I use the sub with a Naim Uniti Atom. If the B&W is a good improvement and worth looking at, has anyone got any idea how it would attach to the Atom? I don't think it's straightforward.....for the REL, I use their Bassline Blue cable (actually, it's a brilliantly manufactured alternative, and much cheaper!)

Love to hear any thoughts and opinions on this, as I'm pretty clueless on the technical stuff!

From a quick look at both products, I'm pretty certain you should be able to connect the left and right preamp outputs on the Atom to the left and right phono inputs on the sub.
I've never seen or used the B&W sub, but it looks like you need to use a smartphone app to set it up,which will limit it to a certain extent (I prefer setting subs up by ear).

Not sure if it would be that much better than your T9 for music, so I would say save your money (unless it's going cheap).

Super - many thanks.

Given my REL connects so well, I think I'll definitely follow your excellent advice and stick for now. Probably not worth the lay-out, especially as the benefit may be minimal, and potentially not even one at all!

The DB4S is a more potent sub, but not really as well suited to your system.
I’d just keep an eye out for a better REL sub, if you fancy an upgrade.
Another T9i might even be the best option!

I guess it also depends on the size of the room and what level of improvement is anticipated, if any?

I've gone down a similar route for my office set up in a 12ft x 9 ft room:

B&W PM1
Rel T5x
Musical Fidelity Encore 225

Only been running this set up since the summer but really impressed with overall tonal balance, soundstage, clarity and power this system delivers. It was my first experience with a sub but setting it up and tuning it was surprisingly easy.
