I'll start with the failed Brilliance WTCC effort in 2005.

Also that same year, MG Rover tried to enter the DTM before going bust.

When Munnich Motorsport entered a trio of SEAT Leons in the 2013 WTCC, their intended drivers were Rene Munnich, Marc Basseng and Markus Winkelhock but the latter chose to focus on GT Racing, at least that gave Rob Huff a chance to defend his title after Chevrolet pulled out.
