Sir Frank Williams RIP
Discussion
Sad to see this, a resilient and determined man. Anyone with even a passing interest in F1 knows his name and when the newcomers to the sport look into the history of it, his achievements will speak for themselves. All the more impressive given his life changing injuries.
RIP Frank a racer through and through.

The passing of people I've never met rarely jolts me into any emotion other than the sad noting of their demise. But I am sad about this.
I guess I was around 11 or so when I watched a Horizon programme about the Williams team. Having been interested in F1 before then, that programme turned that interest into a passion. I recall becoming as intrigued in the team dynamics and engineering side as much as was about the cars and the racing.
First Tamiya model I made was of the FW07 - completely bodged it! Watch Mansell take his first win......

Very sad news. Frank was a tough and resilient character who fought against so many trials and tribulations to make Williams successful.
A fitting tribute there Eric. For me, FW is right up there with the likes of Collin Chapman and Ken Tyrell.
A truly extraordinary, resilient, tough and bloody minded legend who has achieved more than most of us will achieve given ten lifetimes.
My most sincere condolences to the Williams family.
