Abu Dhabi Grand Prix - entry requirements stress!
Discussion
So…we’re travelling to Abu Dhabi from Manchester to attend the Grand Prix. Looking at the entry requirements, it appears you need green status on the Al hosn app which is gained by entering all your vaccine certificates and negative PCR test certificate.
When I’ve gone to download the app, the reviews from UK tourists are really poor, saying it doesn’t work for tourists and only works for residents of the UAE.
Has anyone else looked into this and have an alternative plan?! 😬 The reviews are bad, going as far as saying people are leaving Abu Dhabi as the app won’t register green status for them and they’re unable to travel or go anywhere!
I’m now panicking as it’s a 40th birthday present for my other half, and the thought of not being able to get in is pretty anxiety-inducing! 😬

Looks about as efficient as most covid systems. Don't know if this helps: https://www.thenationalnews.com/uae/government/al-...When I’ve gone to download the app, the reviews from UK tourists are really poor, saying it doesn’t work for tourists and only works for residents of the UAE.

Who are you flying with? I only have experience of BA and both their booking system and the VERIFly app I've found to be very good in leading you to the correct forms when all else looks like an admin nightmare. I'm not sure if VERIFly is unique to BA but if it isn't would be worth you starting there.
Comprehensive guide to Abu Dhabi entry requirements.

You’ll need to register with the ICA (identity authority www.ica.gov.ae) before you travel, and will get a code on arrival that allows you to register the Al Hosn app which gets you into venues. Be aware that this app is the ONLY method of getting entry not just to the circuit, but to any public building in Abu Dhabi - hotels, shops, restaurants.
Take hard and soft copies of vaccine certificated with you, have a PCR test before you travel and another on arrival.
Dubai is a lot more relaxed, no app required in daily use.
If you’re conscious of IT security, it might be worth bringing a second phone just for the Al Hosn app, which you can switch on when it’s needed.
