Hmm, if they try really really hard and improve a lot, they might even finish on the same lap, money well spent.

Perhaps with the new regulations... it’s time for a new team on the block. scratchchin
It does happen... It could be the time to break open the GOOD biscuits.

In fairness HAAS had seemed to be doing reasonably well for their resources up to couple seasons ago, their 17/ 18 results were fairly reasonable as a back/ midfield team.
It's just looking like a bit of a bad joke now though. I'd like to see them get back to that position again, it doesn't look good for anyone to have a pair of cars running around miles off the pace.

I remember thinking when Haas said they wouldn't develop the 2021 car that surely that is bringing the sport into disrepute? We have a team on the grid that isn't even trying to compete, just turning up and running a couple of old cars.

I'm assuming the theory is forget this year and we'll put everything we have into our 2022 car and return to competitiveness that way, but given their model of buying what they can and building the rest is that really going to work.

It's really quite sad because Haas were quite exciting when they joined the sport, but they seemed to stagnate while everyone else moved forward. While Gunther is great entertainment I'm not sure he's the greatest team boss and I get the feeling Gene has lost interest and would sell tomorrow for the right offer (Mazepin F1?) or maybe he's just trying to make it to the cost cap era and hope they can make more of their minimal resources there?

Who knows, but the team is a farce at the moment, it's no wonder they are having trouble motivating and retaining staff.

I don't think any of that matters. Someone is going to come last.
I'd rather they raced to their budget and turned a small profit each year to keep designers, techs and admin staff employed then spend big to maybe get a 10th place. HAAS should really be a training ground for new designers, engineers, techs and drivers. Learn in a lower pressure environment, try and out perform your budget and move to a bigger team. For some just being in F1 is enough. Perhaps they cold make money selling the personnel on.

Also this is like football. sure if you follow Leeds UTD you want them to win, but is there really any one out there that is a HAAS fan and wants them to win. I doubt it.

Like Williams... would love to see MS to get at least a point on a regular basis.
Haas must have gone crazy when they thought NM had got fastest lap.
It’s like Alonso last week... just nice to see ‘em up there.
Personally, I think they need an older experienced development type of driver...
Kubica springs to mind. ( Button would be even better).
