Mk2 Rav4 opinions please ?

Looking for something a bit better than the other halfs Yaris, which, TBH, hsant been that kind to us.
Her commute as changed to primarily country lanes rather than a shorter main road run, and Id like to see her in something thats ideallly 4wd, that will bounce the inevitatable bot of road Venison, keep her safe and have better headlights......
Originally thought the Jimny would be the answer, but does seem to a be a tad agricultural....

I have an old Mark 1 3 door RAV4 & it is great shed , would reccomend one if you can find a good though.
Even the Mark 2 is gettiing on a bit now so corrosion could be a probelm . Can't really go to far wrong with a RAV4 a collegue a work had a mark 2 petrol & only scrapped it when the cambelt went around 160000 miles.
