Good morning fellow PHers
No real point to this story, but the cause of the puncture was a bit surprising (to me).
I was driving on the M6 and came off on to the Aston Expressway, heading into Birmingham city centre. As I went over the flyover, a warning came on the dash about checking tyre pressure. Ironically, I was heading for a petrol station a few miles away to get fuel and check all tyres.
Car was driving normally, but when I turned the music off I could hear a repetitive clicking noise so pulled over. Offside rear completely flat, no spare/space saver. Called the breakdown company and a very decent RAC guy set about doing a temporary repair to get me to a tyre place.
I was expecting a nail but he was amazed to pull this out…
It was completely embedded.
Tyre had done 2,600 miles and had plenty of life left in it, but felt a bit fortunate the alloy survived and no other damage sustained.
Anyone had similar or bigger?!?
