Good morning, I’d like to add a subwoofer to my AV setup, this will be for movies only because I have a separate 2 channel setup for my audio.

Do I simply buy an subwoofer with an onboard amplifier and line inputs and connect to this line out found on the top right of this image? Thank you

That's pretty much it.

The driver size, amp wattage and type of cabinet - ported or sealed - and your room size are all factors to consider and research further.

You will also need to set up the sub to blend with your current speakers. Depending on your amp, this might be something that can be done with the amp's mic and speaker set-up wizard, or you may have to do this manually.

Yes, it's as simple as that.

BK subs are the best value for money. Look at them. Get a Monolith+ if space allows. You can turn down a good sub, but you can't magic extra depth out of a crap sub.

If you know where to look or who to ask there are going to be some cracking deals on popular SVS subs this month.
